The Browns chip was, no doubt genuine. The side with the worn inlay was solidly in place and there was enough of the word "Browns" visible to identify the chip. The side with the glued in inlay was not so worn. The Brown figure cartoon guy and word Browns was much clearer. The inlay was chipped around the edge, curled up a bit and glued in so the inlay rose up a bit from the chip surface. Like I said in an earlier post, it was a mess. I have no doubt it was an original Browns chip inlay but, from that chip.....I don't know. The lady was asking $50 for it, and at that price it was just to crappy to consider. I don't think any collector would really want it. You could tell what it was , but was just a mess. Say you had a 1913 liberty head nickle and someone put it on a train track and squished it. Would you still want it?
