Atlantic City casinos escape damage, wait for approval to reopen
Atlantic City casinos escaped Hurricane Sandy without major damage and are now waiting for state approval to reopen after being shut down for the past three days.
However, it is still not clear when the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement will allow them to resume operations. A conference call between casino executives and division Director David Rebuck is scheduled for later today.
“Once the state gives the word, we’re ready to go,” said Tom Pohlman, general manager of Golden Nugget Atlantic City.
