Heading home in northern Florida we came upon the worst storm we were ever in. Roads had flash flooding, trees & wires were down. We could not get to I-95 so we got detoured to Folkston, Ga. Once there we got on to high ground & waited there for a while. The next day we got as far as Savannah & got a motel 6 miles from the city. Craig & Mary had given us a $50 gift card for a chain restaurant. I got directions from motel clerk as to where one was. We tried to find it but could not. This was our 55th wedding anniversary dinner. Sept 21st. We came across a restaurant named LOVES. It was a seafood & steakhouse. So many cars parked around it that I said it must be good. After parking a good city block away we walked to the restaurant leaving the camera in the car. There was an event there which explained the cars. Inside there was plenty of seating & we had no wait. The hostess walked us to the far end & seated us in a booth with a picture window. It was an unbelievable View. We were on a river which flowed to the ocean. Tide water flowed to the right & the river flow was to the left. The water was going in both directions. As we ate the sun set on the west end to the right. We saw 4 gators swim by. The waitress said one was sunning on the grass when she came to work. I ordered broiled Tilipala which was served on a turkey platter. It had the largest baked potato I ever saw and had 12 large fish filets. Accompanied by a bowl of creamed spinach. It was only $18. over an hour later I had finished the fish & Veggies but left 1/2 of the potato. Ann Took most of her prime rib back to the motel & left it in the refrigerater when we checked out. Could not have planned a better place for an anniversary dinner.
We headed to Myrtle Beach, SC for 2 days of flea marketing before heading home. Found some nice casino tokens & shot glasses.
