My HP laptop runs Windows 7 and has a touch pad, John. It's built by Synaptics and below is a pic of the screen I get when I go to the Control Panel. Clicking on the Synaptics entry gives lots of options on how to set sensitivity, gestures, etc. Every manufacturer probably does the adjustments differently, but I'm showing how one of them does it.

Maybe this will help. If not, you could try the online manual that should have come with your PC.
