Thanks, Ron!
I'm glad I was able to help steer you toward the "slippery slope" !
I have to confess that casino stuff isn't the first thing that I ever collected. BUT, it's the collection that's held my interest the longest...BECAUSE of the variety of items that are available. If I'm bored with chips, I can focus on postcards. If I'm bored with postcards, I can focus on matchbooks. Bored with matchbooks? No problem, focus on china, or miscellaneous souvenirs, or ashtrays, or swizzle sticks, or stories, or... And, of course the best thing is that my husband and I share the collecting interest...and several people have told both of us that we're lucky to share the same collecting passion!
As for sharing...you know me, always happy to show off our stuff! Our collection is for "fun", not for investment...and we don't have a lot of high-end stuff. Our priciest chips are in the bank...and hopefully no one is interested enough to try to steal swizzle sticks, postcards and china.
We actually have 3 display cases...one in the living room
And 2 in the dining room
