We've run into the same problems in other hotels... they don't care. I take pictures and share them with friends when we get home so they know where NOT TO STAY.

Most of these problems should have been reported by housekeeping and fixed before the next victims check in.

Lights that don't work, toilets that don't flush or don't stop, electrical outlets that are dead, not enough towels, carpets that haven't been vaccumed, etc. I leave notes at the desk when checking out but don't know if it helps. And these problems are not at cheapo places but the higher priced ones.
