A week or two ago I posted a scan of our cool new glass swizzle sticks from the Golden Camel. Did you miss it? Here they are again...
Then Charles Davis posted a (lobby card? some kind of movie ad anyway) that showed the neon from the Golden Camel. The Silver Club was on the same sign.
At the time, I posted this picture...and said it was the closest thing we had to a picture of the Golden Camel Club...(part of a linen postcard)
Well...we're getting closer to a real picture of the Golden Camel!!
I just received a photo that I won on ebay (paid too much...but I had to beat d***s for it!!!!)...here's a part of the photo...as you can see by comparing it to the picture above, this building WAS the Golden Camel building!!!!! (Photo was probably from the early-ish 1940's, as it came from a soldier's photo album...according to the seller)
Golden Camel

Las Vegas
1931-c. 1932
1938-c. 1939
Also in the picture was the Silver Club! I don't think I've ever seen a picture of the place before . In the picture, it looks like the Silver Club might have expanded into the Golden Camel Building...
Silver Club

1934-1956
Can you guess what ELSE was in the photo??? Can you? Nope...I'll have to tell you. The Pioneer Hotel!!! Right...the one with the green .10 chip...not the Pioneer Club on Fremont Street. Check it out!
