I consider a gaffe a slip of the tongue, a cute little mistake we all could make. Joe Biden makes gaffes.

Not knowing even the basic history of the borough you are representing in Congress is out and out stupidity.

Every politician makes gaffes. We all know there are 50 states. Saying there are 57 states is a gaffe. Funny but doesn't mean anything. Again, we make gaffes. Howevey stating that there was slavery in Brooklyn in 1898, well after the civil war, was dopey. Saying it was the Dutcg doing the enslaving in 1898 goes well beyond a gaffe. I would have expected such answers from a Leno installment of "JayWalking"

No gaffe. Out and out stupidity.
