Sometime this fall I am going to sell off a large chunk of my collection. I did not want to invest in another scanner to get the colors right. I have a bunch of point and shoot cameras laying around, however the problem with taking photos on a flat surface is that the chips will roll or fall over, plus you camera moves.
So the other day I had an idea and I put it together tonight. Really simple and cheap. Around $10. Took a couple of hours start to finish.
1 - 1"x4"X6' piece of wood
1 - package 1-1/4" wood screws
1 - package 1/4"-20 1-1/2" bolts (for mounting camera).
2 - 1/4" zinc washers
1 - can flat black spray paint (white will work also) I used black because I could put a white note card on the rig if I want a white background
See the 2 pictures below....
The Rig - Note the extra drilled holes - these were for my other point and shoot cameras. Basically I lined up the cameras to the best shooting position and marked where the mount was on the bottom of the camera. Also note I have a flexible halogen desk lamp to light up the rig, instead of a camera flash.
