In Asia a hurricane is called a typhoon.

Yesterday Typhoon Bolaven didn't knock out our power BUT today Typhoon Tembin is heading our way!
I got away from hurricanes when I left Hawaii but run into typhoons here.

People are placing wet newspapers on windows thinking it will prevent glass from breaking. I don't think so.
Even with hurricane "tint" windows (commercials that show a sledge hammer unable to break through the window) it won't stop strong winds from blowing the entire window out of it's frame.
