Back in the early 1980s I was a photographer for a company, in Cincinnati, that was working on the Cincinnati Gas & Electric Company's annual report. I had to shoot a group photo of all of the CG&E board of directors. Niel Armstrong was one of them. We were waiting around for one of the directors that was late and I had the chanch to shake Neil's hand and chit chat for a few minutes. Needless to say , I never forgot it.
Some years earlier I was going up to Lima, Ohio for a job interview. Friends we had met in the service happened to live next store to Niel Armstrong's parents in Wapakoneta, Ohio. They picked my wife up near I-75 as we came North from Cincy. On the way back I was to stop at their place and pick up Chris. I went to the wrong house. It was the Armstrong's place. Neil's mom answered the door and told me I was the first person in a very, very long time to knock on their door and wasn't looking for Neil or them. We got a chuckle out of that for a long time.
