I saw an ebay auction for these items a few weeks/months ago. When I was doing the worlds longest yard sale two weeks ago I was wearing my "I buy casino chips" tee shirt. A guy mentioned to me that he had some Nashville chips to sell. Of course I was interested since I live in Nashville. I contacted him when I got back and yesterday he replied with the attached scan. We worked out a deal where I only paid two or three times what I would normally pay for the whole thing. I probably wouldn't have done it except that there is only the one set of chips. The chips and card were taped to a scrapbook that apparently was a record of the various illegal clubs the former owner had visited. He also had a Ridgetop chip that he sold earlier from the same book. The back of the card has a 1947 football schedule on it. This is the sort of chip ID you just love to find.
Apparently there was not only gambling there in 1947 but for a very long time. I did some research a few months ago at the Nashville library and came up with these two stories about gambling raids from 1961. And there was another raid in 1962 also.
