Larry, You have made some very bold statements in
In Response To: Inflated Ebay prices. ()

your post.

I would first have to ask why you think some our "Respected" members are charging inflated prices?

Inflated based on what?

A value of an item is based on many things but the driving factor of "Value" is demand.

The Value of a chip is what someone is willing to sell it for and another person is willing to buy it for. Not what a price guide says.

Many times dealers advertise chips for sale based on what they have paid or traded for that chip.

Say for example I am selling at chip that cost me $100 and start an ebay auction for $90.
Another dealer managed to pick up 5 of the same exact chip but only paid $5 each at a garage sale so he is offering these on Ebay for $50.

Would you say I am inflating the value of the chip or trying to take advantage of anyone?

At the convention you can see 20 people with the same chip and 20 different prices. Surely I can't accuse those with higher prices of inflating values.

Bottom like is if someone advertises a chip for sale at $100 that is only worth $20, it most likely wont sell and the situation takes care of itself. if it does sell for 4100 then maybe the true value IS $100.

Just something to consider.
