I have been on the board a long time now, and I have seen ebay policing throughout that time. It is clear to me that, generally, people get upset or at least get active when the auctions contain severely false and misleading statements. That is true of the post regarding the Luxor chip, below. If price is the reason, it is because it is so outrageous, it is laughable (for example, 1 million dollars for a $15 chip). I do not see people getting upset at starting prices that are high but not completely absurd. I think the general thought is that anyone is free to ask whatever price they want. You, or anyone else, for that matter, are free to post any warnings to the public that you like. I'm sure most would be interested to read them. I would.
I collect from a very small subset of chips, so I have not seen any gouging in my area. I have no idea who you are referring to. But, if you think the ebay tactics are misleading or designed to prey on the unsuspecting and ill informed, you certainly can post about it here. You are also free to file a complaint for an ethics violation with the club.
