I didn't think about the gold coins. I just spoke to the seller and he seems to be a stand up guy (his ebay feedback supports this too). He said it was in an airtite. I told him he should check with his PO sort facility to see if it got ejected from one of the machines.
Should I bother notifying my local postal inspector?
