It all blends together, but my older brother (5yrs older) in the late 40's sdrove me down to the Long Beach pike, and go on the rollor coaster, I remembner the dance halls, we didn't go in to young, but girls dancinf with the saliors for money. Not sure if it was the Palace ballroom, or the Aragon ballroom, but remember my brother telling me big bands play. Also, the stories that the warer taxies to gambleing boats stored the bootleg boose under the pier. Also, we would go up the coast near Sanata Monice to POP (pacific ocean park) a lot of fun stuff, and they had dancing halls, rollor coastors, and stuff. These trips took place in late 40's and early 50's. Of course the gambling boats were gone I think most of this story is facts, but some is blurry. The Navy was big in Long Beach, remember a lot of navy guy's in bars, and tatoo joints, and looking for girls.
