Until then, I just charge $2 flat rate, which pretty much covers the $1.64 postage, 9% commission (less 20% of that for those who fulfill certain requirements), and the cost of the bubble mailer.
EBay pretty much just encourages us to mark up postage so we can recover the costs and they can increase their commissions. They said when they imposed this rule last year that they did it to encourage sellers to charge actual shipping costs rather than inflated amounts, but charging only the actual shipping rate would lead to 9% losses - and eBay clearly knew that when they made up the story to go with their policy change.
Will buyers be up in arms if their postage cost goes up 20 or 30 cents? That's doubtful.
