You are correct sir. Never been a huge fan of online poker.....but THAT???? Yikes.
I will always remember my first hand of poker on Pokerstars:
I had 8-9 spades and the flop was 10-J-Q of spades. I had flopped a straight flush.
I bet it anyway and was called. Next card was a K hearts and I bet it hard this time. Again I was called. I figured the guy had the nut flush draw or maybe a straight or set and was praying for a spade on the river or a card to give him a straight if he did not already have one. Yep...a spade hit...a 5 or 6 I think. BAM...I knew I had him and I bet again. He raised me all in and I happily called, but then the hand ended and all my chips were gone. WTH is going on I think? Now remember this is my first hand of poker online ever. Was there a mistake made? Where are my damn chips? I noticed the button for reviewing the last hand so I checked it to see what happened. Well...what happened was...the guy HAD FLOPPED A ROYAL!!! Seriously guys,I was flabbergasted and from then on very very cautious about playing online poker.
I mean...we do see some strange beats in real life poker and I know you play more hands in an hour than in a casino, but I think that the ratio of bad beats I see online are way more prevalent than they should be.
And don't get me started about the app that allowed you to see the other players hole cards a few years back.
