...is currently under pre-evacuation status up to the Douglas County line. Compared to last night, tonight is very calm. That can change in a matter of minutes, so the current mandatory evacuation orders for areas along the front range and Ute Pass are still in effect. Temporary housing for over 30,000 evacuees has filled every hotel room from Pueblo to Castle Rock and a limited number of Red Cross run community shelters that are mostly local school gyms. The area burned so far reaches from highway 24 just above Manitou to Rampart Reservoir on the west and to just south of the Air Force Academy on the east. The damage already done is absolutely heartbreaking.
