I agree completely that The Orleans is a very special place.
To answer your question, the "prime rib" place is called The Prime Rib Loft, and while the service is very good (we have our preferred servers) and the food is very good, the ambiance is an issue, as follows....
Being a "loft" it is squeezed in between the first and second floor (as a mezzanine) it seems that the ceiling area of the loft is very low and the ceiling panels are NOT acoustically treated for noise abatement. This means that it is very, VERY noisy. Again, the food is really good, but we try not to go there when it is busy.
The restaurant does have it's own bar and has a great view (over looking the casino floor) for about 5 tables, but otherwise it's like being in a cave!
Downstairs is Canal Street, which has better food, but be prepared to spend more time and money, but the ambiance is much better. And, if you are a wine person, they have a fairly well stocked wine vault. Both the Prime Rib Loft and Canal Street are property operated, as is the Courtyard Cafe (coffee shoip). Also on the property is a Japanese/Chinese restaurant (Koji), a TGIFriday, Sbarro (pizza), Baskin Robbins, Subway and Fuddruckers, all of which are NOT operated by the Coast Casino group (under Boyd).
Also... the Big Al's Oyster Bar, French Market Buffet and Costa Cantina are all property operated and the Oyster Bar, while small, is really good!
Lastly, the Club had 2 Conventions at The Orleans.
