when I earlier posted my comments concerning "Political Posts" on the ChipBoard.
So let me clear something up:
In part, I said what I said, first because I thought we had already come to a consensus on this topic over a year ago, and that we had agreed to try avoiding political postings, at least as much as can be expected, anyway.
And secondly, the effect that those kinds of postings were having turned out to have had a lot of people admitting they no longer enjoyed frequenting this Board anymore, specifically because of the political postings and the negative impact they were having on this "chip collecting community" and its image. It turned a lot of people off!
Much of the concern that was expressed at that time also had to do with turning away what would otherwise might be future Club members, who seemed to have admitted being "turned off" by that whole experience.
Look, I know there are a lot of people who post here, Club members and not, who are perfectly content talking politics along with everything else. I also enjoy talking politics and consider myself a "political junkie".
But I also think there is a time and a place for everything. And from what past experiences have taught me, I'm not sold on the idea that the ChipBoard is the right place for politics. There are endless website out there that are far more suited for that than this one. But that's not to say the occasional political post can't be made. And I am certainly not telling anyone what they can or can not do!
What I hope to not see again is the amount of politics, especially because it's an election year, that in the past has had such a negative effect on this Board and those who enjoyed coming here, not for their politics but for their chip and casino related interests.
Do what you want ... that's just my opinion.
