I have to say I personally would disagree. Yes it is nice to get away from
controversy and all the political BS we see on TV and in the papers every day.

However this board has always been an open forum where people are free to
discuss whatever they like. Once we start to pick and choose what topics are off limits we are censoring the same freedoms that so many Americans have given the ultimate sacrifice to obtain.

Now I personally have decided to not post political issues in respect for the wishes of others. However I will defend anyone's right to free speech.

Believe me, I do understand where your coming from and think it’s a noble
gesture to ask others to not post on political topics.

Remember that censorship is a slippery slope though. Some people don’t
like Jokes, or contests, or pictures of non chip stuff. Some people if they had their way would ban anything NCR. Surely that’s not where we want to head here on the chipboard.

As I said before I completely respect your opinion and admire your wanting to do the right thing. I just wanted to express a differing view as I too want the same result, but see it a little differently.
