This post is for the folks that may not be using the airport shuttle provided by the South Point Casino. If you plan to, you can find the SP shuttle information here:

If you are arriving in Las Vegas and unable to take advantage of the SP shuttle and plan on using an ordinary taxi cab to the hotel, PLEASE read the below article about the favorite money maker of some LV cabbies - "Long Hauling".
Please notice in the middle of the article, there is a link to the "Nevada Taxi Authority Web Site" that not only shows the phone number for calling in a problem/complaint (702-668-4000), but that the fare from McCarran Airport to the South Point should be around $24 including 4 minutes of wait time (loading/unloading).
If you are new to Las Vegas, on the maps the article shows, the South Point is actually south off I-15 from the 215. Your cab driver should turn south on Las Vegas Blvd to get you to the South Point.

In other words, if you are headed to the South Point and are suddenly in I-15 traffic and looking at the Stratosphere - call the Nevada Taxi Cab Authority immediately! Or call me, and I'll come beat him up for you
WooHoo, see you in 31 days!
