My husband's favorite casino is 2 hours from our home so, when we go, it's not unusual for us to spend the night. One of the hotel desk clerks (Karina) is always really nice, remembers to give us extra towels, etc. One time when we checked in, she mentioned that she loves popcorn, so we brought her some from the snack bar when we were ready to turn in for the night...and we've brought her another 6-8 bags since then. Another night we brought her a piece of pizza. When we checked in on Saturday night, she told us that we had reservations at the casino's steak house ! That was a $150 comp! The lady at the desk with her (her boss??) grinned at our surprise, and told us that the reservation was "thanks to Karina, here"! We had a great dinner...my husband had lobster; I had filet mignon. I think we need to do something nice for our favorite desk clerk!
BUT....???? Is it normal for a hotel desk clerk to give out a surprise comp? How would that work?
