The region (seaside/south) belongs to the Western Caribbean, where the tropical-savanna encompasses the southern Florida peninsula up to the Yucatan Peninsula and south... then to the east (Eastern Caribbean); over Hispaniola, Puerto Rico, Jamaica and thru the Lesser Antillies where it finally gets lost into the Atlantic.
