As I think you are very confused as to what’s happening.
I don’t want people reading this post to misunderstand what's happening so I need to respond.
If you were talking about the incident with Joe 2 years ago, it had absolutely nothing to do with whether he was pre-registered or not. He was asked to leave (BY ME) because he did not have his convention badge with him. Joe told me he actually did pre-register but left his badge in his room.  I asked if he would do me a favor and retrieve it so he could return.
Pre-registration is not a requirement to attend a trade session. Having a convention badge IS.
You don’t have to be a Member to attend a trade session, and just because you are a Member, doesn’t mean you are allowed enter..
As a convention function, ONLY those that are registered for the convention can attend the trade sessions.
There are ONLY 2 rules we ask our members to follow.
1) You must have a Convention badge to attend
2) There is no exchange of money
Now as far as your statement of our members pay a lot of money to be there….. I have absolutely no idea what your referring to.
Membership in the does not include convention admission. In fact even as President of the club I pay to attend the convention.
If your talking about someone who hasn’t pre-registered but paid a bunch of money I have to ask what money? If they didn’t pre-register, the paid nothing at all.
Now you mentioned if the Wednesday trade session was removed you would no longer attend the convention. We have no intension of doing that, but for some reason the only 2 rules we have in place are constantly being questioned.
You have to realize that every complaint just adds fuel to the fire of those that don’t care for the trade sessions in the first place.
I don’t want to see ANY of the trade sessions go away. However if something becomes a problem one starts to question if it is still worth doing it anymore.
Just something to consider.
Only 2 rules, that’s all we ask.
For those that don’t pre-register, they are more than welcome to attend trade sessions all day Thursday, all day Friday and all day Saturday. All we ask is that they have a convention badge, simple as that.
Personally I don’t see how we are unfair by offering these great events to our convention attendees.
Everyone is welcome to an opinion, but those are my thoughts and I am sticking to them.
