So there were some glass swizzle sticks on ebay a few days ago, and one was from the Tivoli Tavern!
*insert happy dance 2!*
Luckily for my peace of mind , there was a Buy-it-now option...which I promtly clicked on! Emailed the seller, and BEGGED her to pack them REALLY REALLY REALLY carefully! Then waited on pins & needles 'til the sticks arrived safely...which they DID!!! YAAAAAAAYYY!!! *insert one more happy dance!*
The seller told me that her late mother-in-law's father (I think) was part owner in one of the bars, but she didn't know what his name was . She confirmed my thought that the sticks are probably from the 1930's.
Without further ado...
(Sorry...they're almost impossible to read with a white background, so here's 2 pictures; one for color, the other for legibility )
Top to bottom:
Al's Bar
Boulder Bar (is that the same place as the Boulder Club Bar...??)
Boulder Club Bar
Ethel's Liquor Store's (it was someone 70-ish years ago that added the apostrophe, not me!)
The Fremont Tavern
Fremont Tavern
Mission Bar
Sal Sagev Tavern
Tivoli Tavern
And...while we already had glass swizzle sticks from several of these places, I think that Al's Bar might be the only one that's a duplicate...I'm pretty sure that the others are different colors, or different sizes. *insert last happy dance of this post*
