This is just a re-hash of old dreams that Sam Nazarian has been pushing since he announced the EXACT same plans soon after buying the Sahara. He has around 300 million and needs other investors to toss in another 300-350 million to boot.
The only thing fresh in this story is that it sounds like we have a whole new 'Allen R Glick' in apparent front man Rob Oseland as COO..... What never gets told in these press releases is that 'Ol Sammy has already been refused a gaming license due to past dealings/aquaintances, which is what I believe is the REAL reason Sahara closed- NGC refused to grant yet another extention and allow Navagante Gaming to run the Sahara casino- It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that a hotel on the Strip with no casino is doomed before it opens.
Also the reduction in total room numbers is due to plans to make one big suite from two suites by removing the walls between them.
