I have no problem with the best scan being used (though that could sometimes be a subjective opinion).

None-the-less, what has bothered me is that for those of us who took the time to provide original scans - we suddenly find our name (that was previously associated with the scan) gone and replaced by another person's name and his or her better scan. This seems sort of denigratory.

Also, the count of submissions under our names in the Contributors view is diminished and the original scan is removed.

If it's possible, can a field be added to the database that includes the "Original" Contributor along with the "New" or "Most Recent" Contributor. Additionally, perhaps it is possible to keep and see the original scan when you go to "Contributors" but have it marked "Updated" or "Replaced with better scan"
