ChipGuide Submission Replacement Policy

An issue was recently raised on the ChipBoard about dissatisfaction with scans being replaced when they are no better than the original. I just wanted to inform you about our replacement guidelines.

The ChipGuide wants to provide the highest quality scans of every item for the benefit of the collectors. When a better quality scan is provided to the ChipGuide our guidelines are to replace the original scan and give credit for the contribution to the new submitter. A better quality scan could be an item in better condition, better color rendition, higher resolution, or a sharper image.

We are sensitive to those who have spent hours scanning chips and submitting them to the ChipGuide. A replacement scan should be NOTICEABLY better than the original.
