~~~ ever offered to anyone were offered at the club board... and that's only when someone would stop by to ask a question about chips.
One nite a woman came on asking a few questions. It turned out that her father-in-Law was Taylor (Taylor Wines). Mr and Mrs Taylor started traveling again after WWII, and picked up chips from all over Europe, Puerto Rico, Las Vegas (Yes, day-1 Flamingo) and many other locations they visited; including Germany.
She had chips from Germany that were unknown to anyone prior to her offering them... I spent lots of time talking with here over the phone and bougt many, many chips that I would normally have not even had a chance to own... After all, how many people really walked with chips from their travels back then..! I think Mr T. was a Roulette player, because there was a selection of Roulettes that I never knew existed... I'd say that 98% of eveything in Taylor's colection was super-rare. A few of us did quite well going thru that collection.
Another nite a woman came on asking questions about Dunes chips. She had lots to sell, too.
Most of the good stuff was way after midnite for some reason.. but it was there and it was good...!
