In the late 50's and early 60's A couple service buddies would take the bus up to Vegas, from San Diego for the week-end w/ 100-200 each, and if we tapped out playing BJ or Craps, the pitt boss would give us a meal ticket and a bus pass, thank us for coming, and say come back when we are flush. At the time I made 300 a month. I know the bean counters stay up late at night, coming up with ideas to screw the players odds, like 6 to 5 on BJ. Give me old Vegas when the mob ran Vegas, I sure miss those day's. Too bad I didn't collect chips then.
