Last night I couldn't get my dog Estelle to come in from the yard. I went outside to find her and she was along the fence line hoovering over something hissing. Sure enough, rattlesnake coiled up and striking! I called her and she came to me right away, but I saw the tell tale sign of a snake bite in two blood drops on her snout. I was able to dispose of the snake quickly and rushed her to the animal hospital. After one vile of the rattlesnake anti-venom, she is fine! A little sore and a bit sleepy from pain meds, but it sure put a scare in me (as well as her I imagine!). I thought it was almost instant death when a dog gets bitten, and was pleased to find that the emergency hospital here deals with this type of thing a lot.
Well, back to the business of the club magazine :-D
