Had a similiar situation in one of the club BJ tournaments. I was last to bet even though I had the smallest stack. All of the others had similiar size stacks and bet the max. I figured out that the only way I could win was if everyone else lost (not good odds!). So I bet the minimum, dealer got a 20 to beat everyone and I advanced to the next round.
