Trying to catalogue my newly acquired Desert Inn $1 chip - Green w/Gold "D" - and verifying in TCG. Per TCG - the chip was issued in 1997, but also per TCG the casino closed and became the Sheraton Desert Inn in 1993. My quick google research shows the Desert Inn wasnt sold to Starrwood until 1998. Per TCG the Sheraton Desert Inn shows being opened in 1993 - and the first light blue Sheraton branded chip issued in 1993. Help anyone? Did both casinos operate for a period in the same property? Would they have issued new Desert Inn chips in 1997 after the sale to Starwood/Sheraton?
