on the chip are clues to the age of the chip. They can only be so old, depending on when that mold and the practice of including manufacturer's marks began. I believe these chips are pretty recent. The first Castaways closed in 1987, so it's possible they could have used that mold, but probably not the manufacturer's mark. The kicker is looking at the Chip Guide pages. The second Castaways used the same logo as shown on these chips and they had a 25 cent chip that has the same mold and the "BJ" maker's mark on it. It's pretty clear it is from the more recent casino off of the strip.
