Yes, I did use Unholy Toledo as one of my references....but, only a little bit. The Problem with Unholy Toledo is that it's quite unrefernces with many of Illman's own "fill in th blanks" and I think quite a bit of hear-say. I relyed heavily on literally hundreds of hours researching newspaper articles dating back to 1891, as well as government records such as FBI reports that are now available, Kefauver Committee hearing reports,published police reports etc.

I've been able to uncover many previousy unknown (to the chipper world) places as well as finally give real addresses to places that previously only had a street name.

I've tracked down the places that the main gambling club operators lived and have included pictures of their houses as they are today. Speaking of how they look today.....I've gone to each and every location of the clubs, and taken pictures of what they are like today. Some look exactly the same, some have been torn down and some have been changed. I have tried to go for the Then and Now angle.

I've also been able to uncover tons of photographs of the various clubs from old newspaper articles from the Toledo Blade and the Toledo News-Bee. I'm a pictures kind of guy....and this book has plenty of pictures!

In addition, I have included all sorts of memorabilia from lots and lots of dice to matchbooks, etc.

To say the least.....I'm very excited about this book.
