I have, what I believe to be a significant find! These came to me through a "friend of a friend" who knew I collected chips. These chips had been provided to him by a neighbor who gave them to him under a "sworn promise" to never let anyone know where they came from. This was back in the '50's sometime and the chips were used in a home game and forgotten over the years.
During a recent move to another house, the chips were once again discovered and came up in conversation. As the original "donor" has long since died, my name came up, I traveled to see them and, they are now mine.
There 120+ chips in the box, most of which are of the zigzag mold. The zig zag mold (26 repetitions of the zig zag design), are attributed to Noll and Co., Pasadena, CA, which manufactured them between 1944 and 1953. Thanks to Gene Trimble for this information.
The dating between the late 40's and the early '50's coincides with my friends description of his source, and they were all from Pasadena, CA.
These are definitely "floor sweeps" and many have double hot-stamps, off-set stamps and club/organization names that are unknown to me. Many of the chips have Las Vegas and Northern Nevada names as well. It appears that many of the clubs are also from California as BPOE stamps are also represented.
I am showing a few chips here and am able to provided more detailed scans as necessary.
As my health is failing, I want to sell all of the chips as a lot, rather than to piece them out individually.
If you have questions and other interest in them, please email me directly at:

I live in Placentia, California, if you wish to see them in person. Please email me.
Thanks,
Rich Hodges
