I have noticed two distinct varieties of the Shield design crest & seal chip. I'm sure collectors of C&S are familiar with the differences. Chip 2 has more distinct lines in the rays coming from behind the shield. Chip 1 has poorly drawn small secondary Fleur-de-lis compared to chip 2. Chip 1 has a textured pattern in the diagonal green stripe and it's a flat green on chip 2. There are a few other small variations. I wonder if all the colors exist with the two types? These don't appear to be USPC chips.
