Re: E-BAY Question why dose this happen?

Fred

I occasionally offer 2nd chance offers - some sell, some don't. Based on what I do when I am offered one, I accept if I think it is a fair price, but not too much of a gap to the 3rd bidder if there is one.

For example, if a chip starts at $5 and I bid $15 and the only other bidder wins for $16 (i.e. $1 above my maximum), then I may not accept the 2nd chance offer because I figure if there are no other bidders, or a 3rd bidder but only at say $6, and the item is relisted for $5, even if I bid $15 again if there are no other bidders or just the $5 bidder then I may win it for $5 or $6 - so I don't accept the 2nd chance offer for $15.

In the same example though, if it starts at $5 and I bid $7 and the winner is $8, I may accept a 2nd chance offer of $7 as it is worth paying just a little over the starting price.

That's just how I operate - some people just don't like 2nd chance offers, and maybe also people just don't check their emails every day?

Just some thoughts - can't hurt to make the offers though, even if only a few people bite!
