Learn something new everyday. Most hot stamps are applied in a random fashion without any consideration of mold alignment, so my initial thought was that perfect alignment could be possible on a random basis.
When I was harvesting roulette chips, I would try to find an example for my personal collection of chips that aligned the center inlay with the edge inserts in either a 12 o'clock/6 o'clock position or a 9 o'clock/3 o'clock positon. Some may remember my posts being critical of ebay sellers who would show an image of such alignments, but when the actual chip was received it had a completely different alignment because the seller used the same scan for multiple sales. Just a quirk of mine. Same thing with condition. Often ebay buyers will not receive the exact chip that was illustrated, but one of lesser quality.
