One of my favorite spots at Tahoe is one that most tourists never find. It's the Thunderbird Lodge on the east shore, about 15 miles south of Incline Village.

You can reach it only by a shuttle van, which, unless they've changed in the last couple of years, leaves from the visitor center at Incline Village. I've toured it twice, and it's well worth checking out.
