I'll go a bit against the grain and say that the auction is perfectly clear. the ashtray has a picture of a chip in the center and the description says that it "features" a chip in the center.

it doesn't say it features a real chip at all, just that it features a chip. granted, it doesn't say that it features a picture of a chip either but it does in fact feature a chip. while possibly ambiguous, it's also accurate and if the seller was simply selling an ashtray that has a picture of a chip on it.

also, it's clear from the picture that it's painted onto a white background. you say that you bid on your phone and couldn't see the picture in full detail. that's fair, but unless the auction was ending within the immediate future, you could have just added it to your watch list and looked at it on a full screen monitor before actually bidding.
