Ed you know I hate the prices and you are correct it is impossible to keep up. Updating your catalog will not be a waste of time in my opinion.
Adding Illegals to the states in the Chip Guide IS a waste of time in its present form, "my opinion". If we add Illegals to the Chip Guide it would have to be a separate "category'. Also then we have to have guidelines/parameters or even have a board of 3 members say that look at the chip and all the attribution and decide if it is an UFC or an Illegal. You can't have anyone adding a chip arbitrarily, EX:and I will beat this chip to death, "AIS" and claims it is an Illegal with NO name or No club associated with it or even No location except for a city. Unless you want to have an inbetween category of Illegal and UFC you have to call the AIS chain mold an UFC period end.
I can't wait for the seminar hosted by the two most knowledgeable people on Illegals. As I keep collecting and look at web site I find something new every few months. I found in the past couple years some inactive members with Illegals but they have attribution never before exposed. They were happy just to explore their own territories and keep it right there. I will give an example again on this....The state of Idaho and I would say Sandie Gleixner is the expert on this state hands down. His list is very long for Idaho Illegals and he has done his homework. I am sure Gene will agree with this as I believe he has Sandie's list. There are other who specialize just in their city (area). Somehow we need a final resting place where all this information culminates. Ed's format is great, a catalog of illegals. This will not take away, or hurt sales, from individual books on Illegals that have stories and much information. If anything more people may want to buy the individual books with their stories.
i am hoping if the seminar doesn't answer some of these questions we can get together for a brew and discuss this after the meeting or some other day.
Here is one of my favorite web sites on illegals for the Midwest. By chipper Dave Seaney The story goes as he emailed me he was working on a book and his lap top crashed and he lost almost everything. I bring this site up as an example of the work others have done and is not documented anywhere else. http://www.freewebs.com/midwestillegals/
I found a home for my GG rect heart chip there Bedford,IN The Grand Grill.
