Illegal collecting is not what is was 4 or 5 years ago. Illegal chip collectors are not as active and many are selling off their collections. On the other hand, over the last year there have been chips found that were not known to have exisited before now. It's always nice to add something new to the collection. Prices for illegals are down overall and I have revisied many of the prices I had listed in my book, Gambling In the Spa. There has been a new interest in the illegal gambling era created in Hot Springs with the opening of two musems. The Gangster Musuem of America, located at 510 Central Avenue, and a Gambling Musuem was added in the location of the old Southern Club which has been the Josephine Tussauds Wax Museum since the 70's (250 Central Ave.). Both of these have generated a lot of interest with the locals and our tourist business. I hope in time we can get some new collectors interested in the hobby as a result of these businesses.
