You do NOT have to give them a charge card to reserve. There is no obligation to rent and you can re-book anytime up till the same day of your trip I believe. Cost nothing but a couple minutes of time and while not a great rate it's not bad. Actually the rate is pretty good it's just LAS has some crazy taxes and fees. Rates across the country are usually much higher but the taxes and fees lower.
