I agree John, the closer it gets the lower the rates get to a point. With Dollar and Alamo there is no waiting. I have used both, according to has the lower rate, as long as you are signed up for free "cards". Dollar is called "EXPRESS" and Alamo is called "INSIDERS". You do need to sign up in advance with either rent a car place to avoid the lines.
