I don't know of a Club position on repairing your own chips, John. I looked at the Club page and see some info that David provided on how cancellation is done and chips with cancellations that are known to exist.

To my knowledge, the Club has only taken a position regarding possible fraud if a repaired chip is sold without proper disclosure of the repair.
