That's too bad. Machines aren't the same as live dealers, but they are making inroads in a number of the traditional games -- blackjack, roulette, etc. Since Cactus Pete's and Horshu have common ownership, they probably decided to eliminate the live games at Horsehu as a way of cutting costs overall. Their parent company, Ameristar, needs to show a minimum return for its public shareholders, which the $3 games don't provide. So they give up that piece of the business to Barton's Casino 93. As a local & private company, Barton's doesn't have the same overhead as a big company, so they can still compete at the low end. But there's not much profit in $3 live games anymore. People (dealers, supervisors, etc.) are expensive vs. machines, at the low end of gaming.
