What I would do Pam, (and I am no pro by any means) is to go to control panel and find add/delete/remove programs (If I remember for win xp)and un-install that program/w update and restart and see if that helps.Then try a restore point...sounds like a virus. Check to see if you have any disk from when you purchased your pc and you can restore it to day 1 if need be.
I'm sure someone here will give instuctions on the how-to.sounds scary,but I did it once or twice after a bad virus.GL
